At the annual Marae Golf Tournament at Dannevirke Golf Club Mākirikiri Marae came away as the top team.

The team of Stephen Paewai, Johnny Edwards, Rhea Hazners, Angela Farrell, Tony Peeti and Chappy Maniapoto took away the Rangitāne Tangata Rau Inter Marae trophy for the first time in two years.

This year as well as the three Dannevirke Marae, Kaitoki, Mākirikiri and Whiti Te Rā, we had teams representing Rakautātahi and Ngāti Pākehā.

Chappy Maniapoto also took out the Dave Barber Memorial Trophy for the best Stableford score across the whole field.

The Tournament raises money for one of the three marae here in Tamaki nui-ā-rua, and this year funds raised will go towards Mākirikiri.

This was the 29th playing, the tournament has been running since 1997.
